
Make the panels out of spare cardboard or card stock and color them accordingly. Paint the disc if it wasn't already the color you wanted. Glue a set of LEGO L-Brackets to the existing vertical spinner section. Sand what's left of the front down to size. (WARNING: You will want to be extremely careful with this step as you do not want to compromise the control board.)
Desolder the flipper module from the control board. (Note: You might have to use eBay depending on where you are due to the fact that Hexbug does not officially distribute Matildas to the US.) Build the body around the current assembly. Put spacers on the ends of the axle so it stays in. Run an axle through the top hole in the brace and put the weapon on with spacers.
Glue the braces to the top lexan panel where it ends at the solid part. Glue a small LEGO pulley to the gear on the weapon motor (ideally the same size as the gear). Lately, World of Woodrow has made a similar version using a Hexbug Matilda and the same tactics.
